The Landscape Institute (LI) has published a new biosecurity toolkit for landscape practitioners.
Biosecurity is emerging as major threat to ecosystem resilience, with new regulations and guidance being developed in response to pests, pathogens and the changing climate. This toolkit has been developed in partnership with the Society of Garden Designers (SGD), the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) and the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) and represents a significant development in cross-industry coordination.
The toolkit follows the LI and RIBA Plans of Work, providing guidance for landscape designers at every stage of a project, from assessment and planning to design, contract administration and landscape management. A key feature of the toolkit is the species selection guide, discussing 90 of the genera most used or encountered by landscape professionals and setting out their risks, pests and pathogens, along with the appropriate courses of action to take when using them.

Definitely essential reading as an excellent summary of current plant health risks as essential reading for Landscape Architects. Links are provided in the report for more detailed follow-up information, e.g. on Defra and FC websites.
It would be hoped the guidance is subject to review of plant passport rules when we finally know what is happening with Brexit, and perhaps to annual review thereafter. This is so important, thanks to all involved.
