Advisory Council is the guardian of the spirit of the Landscape Institute’s Charter and of its long-term objectives. As prescribed by the Royal Charter, By-Laws and Regulations its main responsibilities are:
- Ensuring accountability
- Advising the Board
- Influencing strategy and policy
- Inspiring Support

Structure
The Council’s role is to represent members and to help set the LI’s strategic objectives, meeting 3 times a year. There are up to 30 Council members:
- 5 Honorary Officers
- 7 Chartered members
- 2 Associate Representatives
- 1 Student Representative
- 12 Branch Representatives
- 3 Standing Committee Representatives (Education & Membership, Policy & Communications, Technical)
