Changing membership category
If you think your membership category is no longer correct, or you wish to change your category, please contact the LI membership team.
Student to Associate
Student members on LI accredited University courses will need to apply to have their membership upgraded using the Accredited course form.
Associate to Chartered
On completion of the Pathway to Chartership exam, your membership will change from Associate to Chartered membership.
Chartered to Fellow
Please refer to Fellow membership for further information about applying for fellowship with the LI.
Retired Membership
Retired membership is available for existing CMLI and FLI, on retirement of your profession. As a retired member the presumption is that you are no longer working so there is no further requirement for you to undertake CPD.
- If you were previously a Chartered/Fellow member you may no longer vote.
- You must immediately update all relevant documents where you are referred to as CMLI/FLI or you describe yourself as a Chartered Landscape Architect, by removing these protected titles.
- Your designation changes from CMLI/FLI to CMLI (Retired) or FLI (Retired) if you wish to use it.
