The Landscape Institute’s Policy Committee is looking for a new member to contribute to the development oF policy and public affairs activity
The LI’s policy programme plays an important role in helping us achieve our objective of inspiring great places. The contributions made by Policy Committee, supported by Secretariat staff, are central to this and involve the following areas of work:
– Leading the development of the LI’s position statements and campaign documents.
– Leading on responses to important policy and legislative changes issued by Government.
– Representing the LI at external events and on working groups in partnership with other organisations.
The current members of Policy Committee recently agreed a programme of work for the next two years. This will, in part, involve revisiting existing themes such as planning reform, housing and green infrastructure. However it is important that the organisation tackles new themes to ensure that landscape is not excluded from other emerging agendas, such as water and also the links between landscape, health and wellbeing.
How to apply
If you are interested in applying for the position of Policy Committee member, please read the Terms of Reference and complete the application form. Please submit your application by September 26th 2012
Please note that the next meeting of Policy Committee will take place on Thursday 11 October at 12:30pm. It would therefore be ideal if the successful applicant was available to attend this meeting.
