Mary Connor becomes a fellow of the Landscape Institute
Mary O’Connor, an associate director with WYG at its Cardiff office, has been elected a fellow of the Landscape Institute.
Mary has been based at WYG’s Cardiff office since the mid-1990s, having previously practised in Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.
She has been involved in design and implementation of landscape projects and more recently specialised in landscape planning, landscape and visual impact assessment and expert witness at public inquiries.
Mary had an active role in the Landscape Institute, and was honorary secretary when the Royal Charter was first granted. She is a member of the advisory panel for the Guidelines for Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment and is the LI’s representative on the National Grid’s Stakeholder Advisory Group for its visual impact provision, which is aimed at mitigating adverse effects of National Grid infrastructure on national parks and AONBs.
