Landscape architect will help shape planning

Wendy Richards joins Wales Planning Advisory and Improvement Service

Wendy Richards has been appointed to a new ministerial advisory group to advise on the establishment of the Wales Planning Advisory and Improvement Service (PAIS). Until recently chair of the LI’s Wales Branch Committee, Richards, a chartered landscape architect and urban designer, is design director at The Urbanists.

The Welsh Government announced last month that it had established the PAIS to identify and deliver best practice and raise standards across the Welsh planning system by sharing expertise and knowledge. LaThe interim advisory group is chaired by former Chief Planning Inspector Peter Burley. The group is made up of representatives from a wide variety of planning backgrounds, Richards contributes her environmental design background to the mix.
