The LI’s advice note ‘Water restrictions and watering specification’ has been reissued, following an unusually dry spring
Southern, central and eastern England saw less than 10 per cent of normal rainfall in April. Climate patterns suggest this is set to continue into summer, which could see water shortages and drought conditions in parts of the UK.
The LI’s guidance outlines some implications of these conditions for landscape contracts and suggests how watering may be specified. A technical appendix sets out recommended watering regimes.
Since its original publication in 1996, legislative changes and new regulations mean that some parts of the document are now in need of updating. The LI’s Technical Committee is considering revised guidance and this advice note has been reissued as an interim measure.
[This guidance is currently being revised – Oct 2018]
Do we have an update to as to when this will be reissued.
