Speakers examine ways of boosting city resilience
The Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA) will bring together top industry figures to discuss the topic of Valuing Urban Ecology and City Resilience at a London event next week.
Presentations will consider emerging ideas and concepts for increasing city resilience through increased urban ecology, and the multiple benefits of adopting a proactive approach to improving biodiversity and green space in cities.
Speakers include Dr Val Kirby, of the Landscape Institute’s Policy and Communications Committee, on Delivering Urban Ecology Projects: Policy & Planning; Gary Grant on Greening Pities & Building Resilience; and Bruce Horton on Valuing and Assessing the Urban Ecology and Other Benefits of SuDS.
Case studies will look at: the GLA’s green infrastructure strategy; Camley Street Natural Park in London; and innovative approaches to increasing urban ecology.
The afternoon event takes place on 3 November at CIRIA, Griffin Court, 15 Long Lane, London EC1, and will be followed by a drinks reception.
