The quayside in front of the Imperial War Museum North (IWMN), which was designed by London-based FoRM Associates, is now open to the public.
This completes the first section of the Irwell River Park project, developed by FoRM Associates in 2010. The project links Salford, Manchester and Trafford by an 8km-long riverside park.
The quayside delivers an important new strategic circulation loop in the Quays, a key regeneration zone in Greater Manchester. The loop helps to transform the experience of walking in the area by linking Media City – the new home of the BBC – with the IWMN, Old Trafford Stadium and The Lowry arts centre.
