Basildon Council has appointed The Landscape Partnership to undertake a landscape study of the Borough.
The intention is that this will help the council’s core strategy to re-look at the borough’s landscape, including areas where development may have less impact. It will also consider strategic views within the Borough and areas where the landscape could be enhanced.
At the same time the council has appointed Atkins to undertake an employment land and premises study. Both appointments follow a report to the council’s cabinet on 8 November when the preferred options consultation was discussed.
Councillor Richard Moore, cabinet member for planning, said: ‘These are both very important issues that need to be considered as part of the core strategy, which will help to shape the future course of the Borough over the next twenty years.’
