Practice has 30 staff in four offices across the globe
Landscape practice Terra Firma is celebrating its 30th anniversary tomorrow (1 May). Originally founded in Portsmouth, the practice now has 30 staff in four offices in Petersfield, London, Vilnius and Dubai, and has worked in 29 countries.
Current projects include a national heritage park in southern China, citywide improvements in the Baltic States, high-end projects throughout the Middle East and one of UK’s most prestigious technology parks.
Lionel Fanshawe, director of the practice, said, 'With some of our work extending so far afield and yet without our becoming part of some large corporate international organisation, we have hopefully always done our best to respect the locality in which we are working so that the simple message is made very clear, do not throw out what you already have and which makes the cultural and natural diversity of your place what it is, in the pursuit of some misguided ideal of international design conformity.'
The practice will celebrate with an office trip to the Netherlands in June.
