David Attenborough hit reveals the relationship between nature and cities
Watch out for Grant Associates’ Supertrees in the BBC’s Planet Earth II TV series, part of the practice’s wider masterplan for Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay.
The 18 man-made tree structures are 25-50m tall, supporting vertical gardens and connected by an aerial walkway. They will be featured in the last programme in the series, titled Cities.
Grant Associates founder Andrew Grant has also contributed an article to the forthcoming publication Urban Planet, a cross-disciplinary collection exploring the scale and pace of global urbanisation. Cambridge University Press will make the publication available in early 2017 as a free-to-download ebook.
The episode will be shown on 11 December on BBC One at 8pm, and will subsequently be available on iPlayer. See the Planet Earth II website for more details.
