Create an installation for Amiens’ unique hortillonnages floating gardens
Landscape architects, architects and artists are invited to submit visual art installations for next year’s Hortillonnages Amiens art, cities and landscape international garden festival, organised by the Maison de la Culture d’Amiens, France.
The annual festival will be held from 17 June to 15 October 2017 on the city’s distinctive hortillonnages – a collection of tiny islands and floating gardens in the River Somme. The festival site will include the Ile aux Fagots and the Etang de Clermont.
Works can be designed to last for only the duration of the festival, or for greater longevity.
Funding available for the landscape category is €10,000 for the production of the work plus a €4,000 fee; for the visual arts category, €5,800 for production and €3,000 fee. At least one commissioned work will be a vegetable garden.
Applications can be submitted in French or English. More information, plus the application form, visit the Maison de la Culture d’Amiens website.
The deadline for applications is 19 December 2016.
