Student scheme hosts visitors to Wood Wharf

Alick Nee and Danny Mitchell won a competition organised by the Landscape Institute, Townshend Landscape Architects and Canary Wharf Group to design a space that could be used in the run-up to and during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Their design, which included a native wildflower meadow crossed by paths arranged in the form of the Union Jack, was intended to form a backdrop to screens, kiosks and other elements. There were 13 other shortlisted schemes, all of which were exhibited at Canary Wharf in the spring.
