Long-standing council member Paul Hensey steps up to leadership role

Society of Garden Designers appoints new VC

Paul Hensey has been appointed vice chair of the Society of Garden Designers (SGD).

Recently installed as a fellow of the SGD, Paul has served on the council since 2010, where he was also head of adjudications, introducing several improvements to the system. In his new role, he will work alongside chair Philippa O'Brien.

Paul is head of Hampshire-based garden design practice Green Zone Design, whose work spans private and commercial projects. He also contributes to the society's monthly Garden Design Journal, writing on best practice, materials, construction and the technological aspects of garden design.

Commenting on his new role, Paul said: '2016 will be a year when many ambitions for the society are realised and I am both excited and privileged to be part of the talented team that is working towards these.'

The SGD champions excellence in garden design through workshops, seminars, a journal, annual awards, and a client database of approved members. Membership includes some of the UK's leading garden and landscape designers.
