International environmental consultancy SLR has acquired Bristol-based landscape architecture practice Cooper Partnership.
The merger of the firms’ combined services forms one of the largest and most experienced landscape consultancies in the UK, says SLR. It will enable SLR to develop its landscape architecture consultancy, says director Alan Edwards, which is something it has ‘sought to do for many years’.
Recent Cooper Partnership projects include hard and soft landscape design for a new acute hospital in Bristol, and a townscape and visual impact assessment for the proposed new Greenwich University.
It was also involved in planning and design work for the M2 widening and Channel Tunnel Rail Link. Cooper Partnership managed the environmental assessment for this project and led a team of green consultants as well as taking the project through planning, design and management and presenting the scheme to a Parliamentary Select Committee.
