Daniel Bowles at the University of Gloucestershire has won the Student Landscape Institute Council (SLIC) student film competition’s £500 first prize
Bowles’ documentary style piece features a combination of dramatic location footage, pints of Guinness and bubble bath. Judge, and SLIC Chair, Will Dutch noted that the winning entry was: “A great little film on the potential of water featuring a terrific use of candles.”
In second place was William Bennett from Sheffield University with an up-tempo entry about SUDS. Third place went to Zoe Betts, also from Gloucestershire University, with a film montage which contrasted today’s view of water with those of indigenous people 150 years ago.
Bowles’ winning entry will be featured at the Big Landscape 2020 Student Summer Conference this July.
