Skills gap survey
The survey will update the findings of the HCA’s first in-depth review of skills, 2007’s Mind the Skills Gap (MSG), which found that England faced a significant shortage of professionals with the necessary skills between 2007 and 2012.
The latest survey will provide valuable information on current skills gaps – by profession and by region – while assessing the impact the recession has had on the sector.
The findings will enable the sector to identify the number of people employed in the different occupational groups, assess the current supply and demand of skills, and recommend how the market cab bridge any remaining skills gaps.
The research will explore generic skills such as finance, project management, leadership and communication. As with MSG, the study will include online surveys of individuals and organisations in the sector.
