The Landscape Institute launched the competition to find a designer for Splash Point in May. BDP, Camlin, Craft Pegg and Scott Wilson were then shortlisted and asked to prepare design proposals for the £500,000 scheme.

The resulting artist impressions and concept ideas have been on display at a public exhibition at Worthing Town Hall since 24 August ahead of the final judges’ decision on 4 September.

Making the final decision is a panel of judges drawn from a cross-party group of Worthing councillors, the Landscape Institute, Worthing Arts Council, South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), CABE Space and Worthing’s Regeneration Programme Manager.

The investment in Splash Point is a result of the successful bid by Worthing Council’s Regeneration Programme Team’s for funding from the second wave of the Government’s Sea Change programme and is part of the plan to create a vibrant seafront.
