Four eminent American landscape designers will be speaking at the Society of Garden Designers’ spring conference addressing the theme of ‘Way Out West’, which looks at boundary-breaking gardens on all scales.

The visitors are Hallie Boyce and Judy Venonsky of OLIN, speaking on ‘Heading West: designing for resiliency on both sides of the pond’; Lisa Delplace CEO of Oehme, van Sweden on ecological principles in ‘Pushing the Palette Forward: how OvS continues to innovate in a dynamic world’; and Eric Kramer, principal designer for Reed Hilderbrand, looking at ‘Traditions of Innovation’.

Other speakers include Cornish garden designer Darren Hawkes on ‘Where the West Begins’ and Mike Nelhams, talking about Tresco Abbey, where he is garden curator.

The one-day event will be held on 25 March at the Royal Geographical Society, London SW7. The SGD is offering LI members a discounted friends rate. Buy your ticket before 28 February for the early-bird rate of £125, or pay £143 thereafter. Both include a buffet lunch.
