Rich brothers’ book shows how to take inspiration from natural landscapes

Harry and David Rich, co-presenters of BBC One’s Garden Rescue, have published a book showing the general public how to make their gardens work.

Love Your Plot: gardens inspired by nature combines the principles of architectural design with the inspiration of natural landscapes and habitats to suggest ways in which readers might transform their own gardens, with useful sketches, mood boards, planting schemes, construction details and methods.

Both Rich brothers hold degrees in landscape architecture and design from Leeds Beckett University, and in 2013 became the youngest ever gold-medal winners at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, repeating their success in 2015. They also run their own garden design company, Rich Landscapes, in the Welsh borders.

David said: ‘We hope Love Your Plot gives people the confidence to design and transform their gardens and inspires them to get outside within their local landscapes. Woodlands, mountains, grasslands, coastal and fresh water habitats have been our inspiration since we were young, shaping both our work and our way of life.’

Love Your Plot is published by Random House, available for £16.99.
