An important publication that puts a financial value on landscape is now available online.
The final report of the VALUE project, it shows that economic value is associated with urban greening and associated improvements in economic quality.
Based on a study of 10 investment sites across North West Europe, it shows that targeting innovative green infrastructure investments ensures a high social, ecological and economic impact.
In the foreword to the document, Tom Wild, director of South Yorkshire Forest Partnership, writes ‘An important and reassuring content for us has been the simple key message that underpins the project: that “People Value Greenspace”. This is especially true in and around urban areas where the “nature on your doorstep” has such importance. We remain dedicated in championing this message wherever and whenever we get the chance.’
