Subcommittee monitors university reporting cycle
The Landscape Institute is currently seeking new members to join its accreditation subcommittee to help support the accreditation of new and existing undergraduate and postgraduate landscape programmes.
The accreditation sub committee is responsible for monitoring the annual university reporting cycle, which ensures accredited programmes produce skilled graduates ready to start their career in the landscape profession. Meeting the LI’s accreditation criteria is essential for all accredited courses.
Committee members also support the process of bringing forward new courses for accreditation.
We are interested to hear from members with experience working in a higher education setting. Expertise in one or more of the following areas would be particularly welcome: landscape planning, management, science/ecology and urban design.
The committee reports to the LI’s education and membership committee, and is supported by Poppy Smith, the education development officer. It meets approximately three times a year, with additional communication via email and phone. Expenses to and from meetings are refunded.
Membership of LI committees offers volunteers excellent professional development opportunities, professional networking opportunities, and enables members to play an important and progressive part in the development of the landscape profession.
How to apply
Please email a CV and short statement (no more than 500 words) describing how you would contribute to the work of the accreditation committee, clearly linking this to your higher education experience.
We recommend all applicants familiarise themselves with the LI’s accreditation documents before applying.
The deadline for applications is 5th May 2016.
For informal enquiries and receipt of applications, please contact Poppy Smith, education development officer on Poppy.Smith@landscapeinstitute.org or by calling 020 7685 2656.
