Westonbirt, the National Arboretum has received HLF development funding for the creation of a tree canopy experience.
The canopy is accessible to the public for interpretation, education and to gain a new perspective on tree life and the historic landscape of Westonbirt.
This project will increase the range of visitor activities available, provide additional value to the learning experience and establish a visual connection between Westonbirt House and the Arboretum. The main aim of Westonbirt is “to connect people and trees”, so it is hoped that the structure(s) will be designed and built predominantly with timber.
An open design competition is being held to solicit inspiring ideas that reflect the importance of the location. Click here for more information.
