With the departure of Sue Morgan, I was asked to step in as Acting CEO to lead the Landscape Institute (LI) staff team to achieve our objectives. I am committed to building a professional body that is agile and finding solutions to futureproof the professionalism and integrity of our community.
The senior management team (SLT) have adapted our response to the key challenges we have identified, these form the backbone of a Business Plan that will deliver stability and continuity to the Landscape Institute, whilst resolving the themes of the membership survey and the roadshow. The membership were clear in their feedback, and we look forward to communicating our intention and to resolve the focus areas that were expressed with a positive outcome.
A new, strong and invigorated team will focus on a vision around three core priorities, Membership, People and Systems, and will embrace the time required to implement our new operational IT infrastructure (Project Kestrel) over the next year. You will see a strong and continuous communications as we move through the project.
The time ahead of us carries significant responsibility and a united LI is essential to meet and transcend those challenges. We are looking forward to working with the membership community and volunteers to deliver our shared goals and objectives.
The Board of Trustees said, “We are very grateful to our Commercial Director, Robert Hughes, for agreeing to step up as Acting CE0. He is well-respected by the staff team and is committed to working with them to deliver our current business plan which is focussed on improving our services to members.”
