The LI will be contacting a random sample of Members and Fellows this October to request submission of CPD records as part of the annual CPD exercise.
Members who are contacted as part of the exercise will be required to submit CPD records documenting the activities they have undertaken to maintain and develop their skills and knowledge in the 18 month period between January 2011 to June 2012. Records must cover a minimum of 12 consecutive months during this period.
“A wide range of activities and experiences can contribute to members’ professional development, ” explains the LI’s head of Professional Development Alex Byrne. “CPD can include formal activities such as seminars and courses, but it can also be a range of other kinds of learning experience such as researching or dealing with a new problem or issue and reflecting on lessons learned, or mentoring others.”
More guidance on CPD and requirements under the Code of Conduct can be found in the Members area of the LI website under ‘CPD’.
