Illuminated buildings and professional talks planned for East Sussex town
The East Sussex town of Lewes is to stage its first Festival of Light this month as part of UNESCO International Year of Light 2015.
Lighting installations are promised for approximately 20 sites in and around the town hall, including a piece by projection artist Alex May and some interactive guerilla lighting. Evening tours will set off from festival hub the Linklater Pavilion. These will be complemented by a varied programme of talks and events covering topics as diverse as science, astronomy, sustainability, wildlife and health.
The event is led by professional lighting designers with support from lighting manufacturers and suppliers. The organisers hope the Festival of Light will become an annual event.
The festival will take place on Friday and Saturday the 16 and 17 October. More information from Lewes Light. Events are free and can be booked here.
