LDA Design secures consent for two new solar farms

Hambleton District Council has granted planning permission for two new solar farms in the north of England. Both applications were supported by independent design, planning, environment and sustainability consultant LDA Design, assisting energy companies Luminous Energy Ltd and Big60Million.

York Solar Farm,16km north west of the city, will have the generating capacity of up to 50MW, providing renewable energy to 170,000 homes, and will be LDA Design's largest scheme to date. A second farm near Northallerton will generate an additional 27MW.

The two new farms bring LDA Design's total of consented solar-farm energy production to 600MW.
