Response from Carolin Göhler FLI, President-Elect of the Landscape Institute.
Carolin Göhler FLI, President-Elect, Landscape Institute, said: “Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced a general election at a time that the UK faces multiple, interrelated crises, from climate and nature emergencies, to public health and wellbeing, to housing. The next government has a vital opportunity to address these issues with connected policies that bring positive social, environmental and economic value to our country.
As we approach the election on 4 July, the Landscape Institute calls for policy agendas across the political spectrum that promote integrated landscape, sustainability and skills solutions to tackle the challenges we face.
We will be publishing our recommendations for the next UK government, and look forward to working together with ministers, civil servants, local authorities and other decision makers across all UK nations, and making a positive difference to people, place and nature.”

Good start, thank you. We will be discussing this on the Landscape Institute Members Group on LinkedIn. We are not affiliated to the LI but plan support the LI initiative in the run-up to the election.
