The Landscape Institute (LI) is pleased to announce that the 2025 biennial elections to its Council and Board of Trustees have seen unprecedented engagement, reflecting the sector’s commitment to collaborative leadership and transformative change.

This year’s elections have attracted a high number of candidate submissions from a diverse range of backgrounds, demonstrating enthusiasm from across the membership to contribute to the future direction of the Institute and the wider profession. The calibre of applicants is outstanding, with candidates bringing a wealth of expertise from across disciplines, sectors, and professional backgrounds.

The LI Elections will take place following the success of recent Committee recruitment and Branch Elections campaigns, which have seen a raft of new people already coming forward to take an active role in shaping the future of the profession. The LI’s New Ways of Working is not only about member representation, but also about active participation, and the Elections represent the biggest opportunity for this.

At a time when landscape professionals are at the forefront of tackling the biggest societal challenges, these elections provide a vital opportunity for members to shape the Institute’s strategic priorities and strengthen our role as a champion for people, place, and nature.

We extend our sincere thanks to all those who have stepped forward. Your leadership and dedication are vital to the continuing evolution of our profession.

The full list of candidates for elected roles will be announced on 14 May, before voting opens on 20 May. See the Elections page for more details.
