David Withycombe, chair of the awards committee, said, ‘We have kept the categories pretty much as they were last year because they worked very well. But they have all been reviewed and the judging criteria have been altered slightly in some cases, following feedback from the judges.

‘We are now getting  submissions from a good range of practices but we continue to want to encourage new and emerging practices to enter the awards.’

On the criteria for a good entry, Withycombe said, ‘You should make the judges’ job easy by thinking about the quality of your submission and the quality of the images that you provide. Everybody is under a lot of pressure on their time, but where practices have put a lot of thought into their entries it does stand out.’
