Landscape Institute Wales welcomes appointment
Howard Davies, chief executive of the National Association for Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, has been appointed to the board of Natural Resources Wales (NRW).
Howard has 26 years' experience working in the environment sector including for Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Countryside Council for Wales’ Protected Landscapes team, and Wildlife Trusts Wales. He will serve a two-year term on the board.
Dr Ruth Williams the Landscape Institute's policy adviser for Wales, said: 'We're particularly pleased to see a landscape professional appointed to the board of NRW because NRW needs to take its landscape functions and duties more seriously. We regard "natural resources" as the ingredients; it's the "landscape" that's the cake. Howard has this holistic view, as well as being a strategic thinker. We're sure he will be an asset to their board.'
NRW is a Welsh Government-sponsored organisation charged with ensuring Wales' environment and natural resources are managed sustainably.
