Sustainable Water Industry Group holds sustainability sessions on themes of air and water
The Sustainable Water Industry Group (SWIG) is holding a free lunchtime event in central London on 29 June, discussing the benefits of living walls and rain gardens.
Entitled ‘Solutions to Pollution – Breathing Life into the City’, the event will be divided into two main sessions: water (covering rain gardens, infiltration projects and storm defences); and air (pollution, the air-purifying properties of plants, and living walls).
Speakers include Derek Drew-Smith from the London Borough of Hackney, Owen Davies from the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Mark Prescott of Agrosci Inc Aerogation Technology Innovators, Armando Raish from Treebox, Zac Ribak of Watermatic. There will also be an address by Gary Grant of the Green Roof Consultancy on ‘Towards a new urban infrastructure: Flood, Drought and Air-pollution’.
The sessions will be followed by an introduction to breathing walls with experts from Agrosci USA, Treebox, and Watermatic.
The event will be held at 24 Greencoat Place, London, SW1P 1RD. A light buffet lunch will be provided.
