If you have worked on a project that has provided for food production as an integral part of the design solution the LI would like to hear about it

Food production projects wanted

Food production and landscape is a highly controversial topic that increasingly affects our members’ work. Consequently the LI’s policy committee recently decided to prioritise this important issue, and is inviting members to get involved.

Food growing among the wider public is becoming increasingly popular and food security is high on the political agenda. The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation in Rome says global food prices surged in January to record levels, due to changing weather patterns and the booming global population. Commentators are dubbing the agriculture crisis “a massive test” for economies around the world.

If you have worked on a project that has provided for food production as an integral part of the design solution we would like to hear about it. Please send a brief summary of the project and one or two images to Stephen Russell, Policy and Public Affairs Officer, at policy@landscapeinstitute.org or for more information telephone 020 7685 2649.

Projects will be developed into case studies for the LI website and will be used as part of the organisation’s wider public affairs and advocacy work.
