Landscape architect Johanna Gibbons is one of the five in the show
Now on at the Roca London Gallery until 27 June, the exhibition ‘Urbanistas: women innovators in architecture, urban and landscape design’ has been curated by author and critic Lucy Bullivant and features work by award-winning landscape architect Johanna Gibbons, co-founder of J&L Gibbons.
Designed by Julia Feix of Feix & Merlin Architects, the exhibition explores sustainable, liveable examples of urban design. Through cohesive plans that demonstrate a variety of housing developments, landscape architecture and masterplanning frameworks, Urbanistas aims to present ‘the ingenuity and resourcefulness needed to tackle modern city living’.
It focuses on the work of four other studios in addition to that of J&L Gibbons, namely those of Alison Brooks, founder of Alison Brooks Architects; Liza Fior and Katherine Clarke, co-founders of Muf Architecture/Art; Irena Bauman of Bauman Lyons Architects; and Alessandra Cianchetta co-founder of AWP.
