Essex gets EU money to study flood alleviation
The work is funded under Floodcom, a series of schemes which is aimed at promoting positive water management in low-lying areas that are facing climate change. It covers the 2Seas area which includes Chelmsford in Essex UK, Antwerp in Belgium, St Omer in France and Breda in the Netherlands.
Essex County Council is working with Chelmsford Borough Council and local authorities in France, Belgium and the Netherlands to identify and share practical solutions to alleviate flood risk for residents across the four countries.
A website has been set up to share best practice, although at the moment it has no content beyond contact details.
