EGM decision made on library and archive

EGM resolution passed on Institute’s library and archive

At the EGM called on 15 April 2013 by members of the Institute’s Board of Trustees and Council, Past Presidents and others an in principle decision to transfer the Institute’s library and archive to the University of Reading’s Special Collections based at the Museum of English Rural Life (MERL) was passed by a clear majority in favour of the resolution. While the Institute’s Trustees are clearly delighted to obtain the backing of its membership for such a move and believes this to be in the best long term interests of our library and archive, the ultimate decision now rests with the University of Reading. An update will be published online once more is known but the Institute hopes to conclude its negotiations with the University by the end of May.
