Your opportunity to argue for the best solutions
If you have not done so already, now is the time to comment on your local flood risk management plan. This is an opportunity to build on the profile that has been developed for the profession nationally by the Landscape Institute through making practical suggestions more locally on how better designed schemes and better planning and management within the wider catchment could benefit both flood risk management and landscape objectives.
Flood risk management plans have been produced for each of the 10 river basin districts which cover England by the Environment Agency. The EA has also developed draft flood risk management plans jointly with Natural Resources Wales for the Dee and Severn river basin districts. The EA has said that it wants to work with partners and so this represents a real opportunity for landscape professionals within practices with a track record in the field and working in lead local flood authorities.
See details of your local plan here.
Consultations for all the English river basin districts, including the Severn and the Dee, will run until 11:45pm on Saturday 31 January 2015.
