Charcon's award-winning Eco Countryside segregation system

A cycle segregation system has been chosen as Innovation of the Year (materials) at the 2016 London Construction Awards.

The Eco CountrysideTM cycle kerb segregations system, designed by Charcon, is a hard landscaping solution developed for the Mayor’s Cycle Superhighway 2 (CS2) as an alternative to the more common imported granite kerb with concrete block paving inlay.

The new integrated aggregate system looks like natural granite but is in fact made in the UK from 82% recycled and secondary material content. This has allowed Charcon to reduce the block’s carbon footprint by 33% compared to the more standard kerb system, and cut installation time.
