Conference this month in York on constructive conservation

A conference will take place in York on Wednesday 18 March with the topic ‘Constructive conservation at the heart of place-making’.

Organised by RTPI in partnership with English Heritage and the LI, the event will look at projects in the area. Speakers will include Neil Redfern, principal inspector of ancient monuments for English Heritage, and Sue Illman of Illman Young, former President of the LI.

Ros Southern and Louise Hudspith of Southern Green will speak about the Eleven Arches night show spectacular at Auckland Castle (Bishop Auckland) and Stewart Park (Middlesbrough).

Bob Sydes, heritage renaissance officer at City of York Council will give a talk entitled ‘Sense of Place: Strengthening Understanding’.
