The City of Milan has announced an open competition for the design of an urban park on an existing overpass.

City of Milan launches urban park competition
The intention of the City of Milan-backed project is to create a new £2.8 million urban park on the concrete Cavalcavia Bussa, which currently supports a road and a car park and is located adjacent to the Milano Porta Garibaldi train station.
The new pedestrianised area will be a multifunctional space for social, cultural and recreational activities. Ten projects will be shortlisted during the anonymous two-stage competition and the winner will receive £30,000.
Two prizes of £2,500 each are available for the second and third place entries, and a further seven prizes, each worth £1,200, will also be awarded.
The deadline for submissions is 17 June. Click here for more information.
