This year’s LI branch AGMs will take place entirely online, and members everywhere have the opportunity to join their branch committee to represent themselves and fellow members in their region
Each year, every Landscape Institute branch holds an annual general meeting (AGM) and elects a new branch committee to engage and represent LI members locally.
In keeping with the LI’s ongoing response to the COVID-19 crisis, this year’s branch elections will take place entirely online.
Join your branch committee
The LI has 12 branches: nine regional branches in England, and three national branches for the devolved nations of Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.
An elected committee runs each branch, providing membership services, events and support to LI members locally. The committees are also represented on the LI Advisory Council, making them an important voice for local members.
These online elections provide an opportunity for members to nominate themselves to their committee without needing to attend an AGM. The LI’s membership is growing and diversifying, and to reflect this at all levels, we’d particularly love to see nominations from:
- Members working in smaller practices
- Members connected to different sectors
- Women (gender balance in the landscape becomes progressively worse at senior levels; the LI would like to help more female members of the profession into leadership roles)
- Members from minority backgrounds
- Members who have not before stood on an LI committee, Council, Board or working group
Members have received an email invitation to complete the branch committee role nomination survey, which will run until 5.00pm on Tuesday 2 June. Voting will run from Thursday 4 to Thursday 11 June.
If you haven’t received official notification of the election, or for more information on roles in your local branch, please contact the LI Membership Team.
