A boon for any project demanding the involvement of ecologists, the Ecology Survey app will also provide information on the species and their habitats, as well as showing when mitigation for these species can be carried out.
Many ecological surveys are seasonally constrained, as is the mitigation for many species, explains Bowland Ecology’s director and principal ecologist Jeremy James, ‘so dealing with these species is not only a matter of increased capital costs, it can also increase costs significantly by causing delays in the programme’.
Free to users, the Ecology Survey app will be available this spring for iPhones and androids. For more information visit www.bowlandecology.co.uk
