Advisory Council meets for first time

On the 29-strong Advisory Council there are 13 new members, including nine serving for the first time.
Full details of the membership of the Advisory Council are available on the LI website
Key topics of discussion included an interim report from the Chair of the Library and Archive Working Group, Andrew Tindsley.  Details of the report and a copy of the presentation made to Council are available on the Members’ section of the LI website.
The President invited members of the Advisory Council to join a working group on finances to support the Honorary Treasurer and ensure the highest possible level of internal scrutiny of the LI’s management accounts, and two members agreed to assist with this.
There was considerable discussion at the meeting about the work of branches and a request was made to hold a Branch Forum to help chart the way forward.
Minutes of the Council meeting of 30 March have been approved and will shortly be published on the LI website. Minutes of the meeting of 6 July will be published after they have been approved at the next meeting of the Advisory Council.
