The Institute has now contacted 3% of its corporate members to participate in the 2019-20 CPD monitoring exercise
CPD is a vital part of how LI members stay professionally competent and relevant in a challenging, fast-moving environment. As the Royal Chartered Body for the landscape profession, the Landscape Institute asks all its corporate members to undertake continuing professional development (CPD) activity.
The Institute has now contacted 3% of its corporate membership, selected at random, requesting the submission of their completed CPD records by 12 July 2020.
LI CPD in 2019-20
The new LI CPD year will run from 1 July to 30 June, in line with the LI’s sessional year. As part of the new approach to the monitoring process, candidates are now notified in advance – rather than after the CPD year has ended, as was previously the case.
An extended 2019-20 CPD year is acting as a transition period to the new system. For this extended year, we are asking members to record a minimum of 37 hours’ CPD activity for the period 1 January 2019 to 30 June 2020.
Coming soon: Online CPD
Another exciting development is a move to fully online CPD recording, in line with the LI’s ambition to lead as a ‘digital first’ organisation.
For 2019-20, we ask members selected for monitoring to complete their CPD record as normal. In 2020-21, the new online service will be available, and members will have the option of using the new service or continuing to submit CPD records via email. By 2022-23, fully online recording will be compulsory for all corporate members of the Institute.
