LI retired membership

Retired members have a special place at the LI. Retired membership allows those formerly practicing as a CMLI or an FLI, to continue to be part of our network of landscape professionals and keep abreast of the current issues and ideas within the industry. You can help the next generations by providing insight and experience into policies and practice as the LI continues to adapt and evolve.

Our retired members no longer have formal CPD requirements but that doesn’t mean they can’t keep up to date with the latest industry activities with FREE access to LI Campus (excludes Premium content) and the LI’s online CPD days and concessionary rates for attendance at many LI in person events and activities.

Campus was created by the Landscape Institute (LI), the UK professional body for landscape professionals, with the help and support of our sponsors. Together, we wanted to offer high-quality educational content to landscape professionals around the world.

The Campus video library includes sessions from all of the LI’s CPD days, conferences, and other events since 2016, and we have big plans to add much, much more – from us and from other leaders in the sector.

Retired members get FREE access to Campus (excludes Premium content) so you can keep up to date with what’s happening in the industry.

As members, you’re part of a vast network of landscape professionals in a breadth of roles across the sector. You can search our member directory, which contains over 5,500 listings of individuals across the industry. You can also access our extensive case studies directory.

While you’re no longer eligible to stand or vote in LI elections or AGM/EGMs you can still be involved in our branches. Our branches are at the heart of the work we do and as a retired member, you can attend branch events, receive branch newsletters and other communications, and get updates on activities in other branches. You can also vote for your local branch committee and nominate yourself as a general committee member. Find out what’s going on in your area.

Retired Fellows remain members of the College of Fellows and can take part in college activities, events and stand/vote in college elections.

While you no longer need to meet CPD requirements that doesn’t mean you don’t want to keep abreast of developments in current practice in the landscape sector. That’s why all LI members get FREE access to the LI’s online events, including CPD courses and other training. We hold regular webinars to keep you connected.

The online quarterly Landscape Journal provides in-depth insight into the issues at the forefront of landscape practice, and the innovative solutions the industry is taking to tackle them.
