The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) invites park and landscape managers to a free, all-day event on 26 September at thestudio in Birmingham.
Delivered by the Landscape Institute, in association with the Parks Action Group, West Midlands Parks Forum and The Parks Alliance, this is a day of learning and development for people who manage natural spaces of all scales – from urban parks and green spaces to national parks and designated landscapes.
- Alice Casey, Head of Government Innovation Programmes at Nesta, introduces delegates to the pioneering Rethinking Parks programme – looking at innovation in governance models, income generation streams and usage data.
- Victoria Bradford-Keegan, Project Manager at the National Trust and Kathryn Deeney, Natural Infrastructure Manager at Plymouth City Council, explain how the new Future Parks Accelerator is supporting ambitious projects that will transform the way we manage and fund public parks and green spaces in the UK.
- APSE’s Paul O’Brien examines the findings of the workstreams established by MHCLG in response to the 2017 Inquiry into Public Parks.
