#LI90 – Celebrating 9 decades of connecting people, place and nature
2019 is the Landscape Institute’s 90th anniversary!
Founded at what is now the RHS Chelsea flower show in 1929, the organisation has adapted to and supported its members through seismic environmental, social and economic changes for the past 9 decades.
We live in a challenging time. We face rapid change to the natural environment, climate change and increased urbanisation. Now more than ever, landscape professionals can play a crucial part in meeting these challenges head on.
This year, the LI will reflect on the theme of transformation and examine the changing world of landscape. What have we gained over the last 90 years? What have we lost? And most importantly, what does the future look like?
With a series of events, articles and competitions, we will bring to life the stories of the practitioners and projects that work to transform and connect people, place and nature.
