Braintree District Council (BDC) is a large Local Authority with three market towns set in the heart of rural Essex. It is committed to being a leader in the delivery of public open space improvements to benefit local communities.
BDC is now looking for a Chartered Landscape Architect on a fixed-term two year contract to deliver a programme of Section 106 funded, community focussed, landscape improvement projects across the District. The role will mainly involve producing design briefs and programme management of external contracts. Key to your success will be a commitment to engaging community groups, maximising match funding opportunities and using your contract management skills to deliver great value for money. There will also be opportunities to design and implement smaller schemes from beginning to end.
You will be a Chartered Landscape Architect with good programme management experience and significant experience of tender processes and contract management. Ideally you will have experience of public open space schemes and a flair for achieving innovative designs within tight budgets and restricted maintenance provisions.
