English Heritage protects and provides advice on this country’s unique legacy of historic buildings, landscapes and archaeological sites. We also manage over 400 sites and welcome in excess of 11 million visitors to these each year.
England’s South East Region has a rich and varied heritage. Our regional team based in Guildford is committed to ensuring that the historic environment is high on the regional agenda. A vacancy has arisen for a motivated professional who can help us promote the role of the historic environment in the South East.
We require a knowledgeable and dedicated professional to help secure the conservation of our heritage through casework and to promote historic environment initiatives in the South East Region. You will provide specialist advice to local planning authorities, developers and others on the historic designed landscapes of the Region, on conservation-led regeneration and on planning policies applied to the historic environment.
A detailed knowledge of historic landscapes and the planning policies applied to them, combined with excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills are essential.
